L’Anima di una scarpa

Like father Christmas himself, Giuseppe Zanotti creates a perfect pair of pumps for the holiday season in this short clip.

Pretty in pink python

Why shouldn’t I wear multi-colored python platforms? That’s right. There is no reason. They are fabulous. In the boutique NOW, soon in the webshop.

Nej just precis. Finns ingen anledning. De är klockrena. I butik NU, snart i webshopen.

The colors feel a bit like the ones in these photos.

Think of someone else for a change, and buy a pair of extravagant shoes for yourself.

What now, you ask? Has she gone mad? Perhaps, but not because of Christian Louboutin’s “Peace of Shoe” collection for the holiday season. All proceeds benefit microfinance via the Grameen Foundation, which provides small loans to impoverished people in remote areas to start their own businesses. So the answer is simply yes. You SHOULD buy a pair of extravagant shoes for yourself. The collection is limited to 33 pairs, each one signed and numbered by Mr. Louboutin himself. Oh, and don’t forget to read Creating a Without Poverty by Muhammad Yunus, just like Christian Louboutin did.

Navigate to Navigli

I just remembered that my picture was taken by an italian street fashion blogger  (Fashion trotter) when I visited the antique markets along the Navigli canals in Milan this summer.  I try to look cool in the picture, truth is it was very hot outside and I had been walking for a while in the sun, rummaging through old picture frames, records, and jewelry at the market. In other words, I was melting away. However, the pictures Valentina Padova of fashion trotter takes are beautiful, I wish I had her talent.

I’ll be back in Milan towards the end of january for the FW11 pre-collections, and I hope I’ll have time to visit the Navigli canals again.

Congratulations, Stella

News of Stella McCartney welcoming her fourth child to the world has reached the blogosphere, which of course is wonderful! Reading about it inspired me to also devote some blog-space to the Stella McCartney brand. She has been one of my favorite designers for some years now, and since we opened the shop I have visited her showroom in Milan twice every year. The visits leave me hopelessly intoxicated with great fashion every time, and I find myself wanting to buy the entire collection of her ready-to-wear as well as her shoes and accessories. One could only dream. I equally admire her devotion towards protecting the environment in the process of creating beautiful things. In an industry where excess, consumption and rare materials are key, not sustainability, she is leading the way for other maisons to follow. Isn’t it great? Here is a pretty picture I found of her online, as well as my favorite ad campaigns. Enjoy!

You find the Stella McCartney shoes, bags and accessories at This spring/summer collection will boast in cork, wood, patent nudes, corals and chocolate browns, as well as florals and bows on bags and accessories. I can’t wait.

Giuseppe Zanotti exclusive designs for the angels

Victoria’s Secret shows are always spectacular and one-of-a-kind, boasting feathery creations and lots of color and sparkle. This time our favorite shoe artist Giuseppe Zanotti designed the shoes to walk down the runway. According to him, this design collaboration was especially tricky, since the costumes were so bright and the shoes therefore easily could fade into the background. If you ask me, he was the perfect choice of designer for the show, and he made the shoes look as hot as the models. Giuseppe said that he had received indescribable pleasure from this cooperation, and we can’t blame him!

Here are my favorite looks from the show, and a group picture where you can see most of the collection.
