So my plane leaves ridiculously early tomorrow morning to take me to London for meetings with the good people at the Louboutin offices and the Manolo offices. Good times. I don’t know really what to expect from Louboutin this time, at our last meeting we heard that Mr. Christian recently had nightmares over the studs he is so famous for. So, will the spikes and studs be gone this time? I would miss them, I think. I did like the way they turn my sweet flats into weapons of (small) destruction, but maybe enough is enough? I wonder what’ll come next. Florals? I’m not sure. I wish ruffles would make a comeback, he does them so well. Very Can Can. So french. Voulez vous?
What Manolo has in store for us I could never guess. Maybe I’ll walk into the presentation room and be greeted by feathers and crystal embellishments in the most unimaginable shapes and color-combinations? He is always surprising and incredibly creative in his designs. Sometimes a little difficult but never boring.
Both of these meetings are of that special kind that I am never allowed to take pictures of anything. I’ll try to get some shots in non-sensitive areas like the reception or perhaps up against a wall where there is nothing remotely interesting for anyone to copy. How about that? Nope, not super interesting, I know. Buhu that’s life.

Proenza Schouler just showed in London, and what can I say? The collection is crazy wonderful. I am super excited to see the pieces next week when I go to Milan. Which ones would you like to see in the shop? The strappy boot-sandal is spot-on, it feels very 2013 but might be too difficult to wear? The shape of the heel is however both new and interesting but still very wearable. I like the look of the mule-like sandals with contrasting white heels. All in all, I think this collection is one of the strongest we’ve seen so far for spring. The ready-to-wear is brilliant. I want it all. Hats off to the boys at Proenza Schouler, they sure nailed this one.

We strolled around Chelsea and South Kensington after the Manolo Blahnik appointment in London last week. After stopping by the Joseph store we peeked through the window at Giuseppe Zanotti, comparing selections and gathering inspiration for our own shop.

So I’m in London placing the order for Christian Louboutin Fall/Winter 2012, and right now I’m at Joe’s on Draycott having dinner and looking through the order sheets. I loved the new collection, hope you will too!
I had a short trip to London over the weekend to see the Christian Louboutin SS12 Main collection. Expect lots of fuschia, 160mm heels and platforms. My favorites are however a pair of clear plastic pointed sling-backs on an 85mm specchio heel with a strass embellished toe-cap. Can’t wait!
I’m on my way to the airport! I have a purchase appointment at Manolo Blahnik in Chelsea today, and after that I’m off to dinner and drinks in Knightsbridge with the most wonderful people. I’ll stay the weekend in London, as a sort of mini-holiday. Mixing business with pleasure, like a friend of mine would say.
I leave Stockholm for the Main and Show Collections in just a few days; first stop Milan. After seeing purchase appointments at Giuseppe Zanotti, Emilio Pucci, Rupert Sanderson and a few new labels, I leave directly for Paris to meet with the sales crews at Azzedine Alaïa, Stella McCartney and Sonia Rykiel. I finish off the week by flying to London for a birthday celebration. I’m loving next week’s schedule.
After taking a sneak peek at the show collections online, I must admit Emilio Pucci FW11 looks promising. I love the deep petrol blue velvet sandals and the buckled booties (I wonder if it is possible to have them made in suede?). They are definitely both on my wish list for next week’s purchase appointment, and (who am I kidding?) my personal wish list as well. I want it all. Good work, Dundas and Dolcini.
