Had lunch in-house at the Alexander McQueen terrace after our buyers appointment. I mean, who has a terrace like this at their workplace?! It’s insane, I have to get me one. Also, McQueen has expanded their shoe collection for next spring, with some amazing styles I might add. You can always count on Alexander McQueen for good flats and fun details, but starting Spring 2014, they’ll also be the go-to-designer for supple natural leather sandals and a very directional design. Love it!

Two quick pics from our last trip to Milan. We had appointments at most of our Milan-based designers, such as Giuseppe Zanotti and Jimmy Choo. The pictures were taken on via della Spiga and in the reception at one of our showrooms where we met with the agents for Emilio Pucci and Givenchy. I have so many more pictures from Milan, so stay tuned!
I’m going to Milan in a couple of weeks to place the first orders for Pre-fall 2012, so I’m trying to collect my thoughts and seek inspiration from my favorite look-books over coffee. Preparation is key. I am thinking clean lines, exotic skins and heavy metal. An armour for autumn. Sounds good, no?

Some pictures from my trips to Milan i June and July. I had purchase appointments with Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren Collection, Giuseppe Zanotti, Emilio Pucci and Jimmy Choo. The cruise and pre-collections were bigger than they usually are, leaving me with a ton of work. Decisions, decisions.

Via Gesù. Color coordinated Milan.
Flying over the Alps, just before landing at Linate Airport in Milan. Ahh, alps. I love you.
Stopping in a park before the last meeting in Milan. Don’t you just love ponies with your coffee?
Now THIS is a reception, ya’ll. I’m just saying. What you don’t get from the picture is the scale of everything. It’s all oversized and huge. The ceiling is probably a million miles high.
A quick lunch with the sun shining through the windows at the Marc by Marc Jacobs café on Via Mercato.
Our hotel room just off Via Manzoni. It’s nice to live smack in the middle of things and still have a view overlooking a garden.
I leave Stockholm for the Main and Show Collections in just a few days; first stop Milan. After seeing purchase appointments at Giuseppe Zanotti, Emilio Pucci, Rupert Sanderson and a few new labels, I leave directly for Paris to meet with the sales crews at Azzedine Alaïa, Stella McCartney and Sonia Rykiel. I finish off the week by flying to London for a birthday celebration. I’m loving next week’s schedule.
After taking a sneak peek at the show collections online, I must admit Emilio Pucci FW11 looks promising. I love the deep petrol blue velvet sandals and the buckled booties (I wonder if it is possible to have them made in suede?). They are definitely both on my wish list for next week’s purchase appointment, and (who am I kidding?) my personal wish list as well. I want it all. Good work, Dundas and Dolcini.

Once again the breathtaking interior of the Giuseppe Zanotti Design showroom on Via Monte Napoleone.
The most beautiful room.
The Zanotti terrace, makes me long for those hot summer days in Milan.
Outside Paper Moon, after a very satisfying lunch.
I visited Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, for the athmosphere, architecture and history.
